LEED® & Green Credits

The Sustainable Landscape Council has worked diligently to establish design standards and guidelines that promote sustainable landscaping practices and to insure that SLC standards are consistent with the current and future standards being promulgated by the USGBC LEED® programs, the Florida Green Building Coalition programs, and the Florida WaterStar program. Including sustainable landscape practices, along with earning an SLC certification, will insure that your project will be eligible for all available “green” points. Further, we believe that the SLC sustainable landscape standards must embrace native and non-invasive exotic plants and we are working closely to insure that SLC standards align with the University of Florida / IFAS Extension / Florida Yards and Neighborhoods Program.

The SLC is actively soliciting member partners who are committed to insuring water quality, water conservation, and the protection of our rich native plant and wildlife resources. If you feel that your Company offers a product or service that is consistent with the SLC mission and should be recognized as a sustainable product or service, please contact us for information about how to get your products and or services included in our database of sustainable products and practices. Many partners with sustainable products are electing to add the SLC logo to their products and services. The SLC hopes to launch a consumer awareness program in 2009 that will allow consumers to easily recognize SLC endorsed sustainable products and services.
